Sargent Investment Group, LLC (SIG) is a federally-registered investment advisor (RIA) providing wealth management services to approximately 225 families. Their culture, process and structure is the foundation that allows SIG to focus on providing financial organization and tailored investment portfolios specific to each family’s needs.

Launched in 2018, SIG was founded by Christopher Sargent, Brian McGregor, and Ricardo Rosenberg. With the addition of a fourth principal in 2022, Chris Rhyne, SIG is now a team of thirteen. “The decision to become independent was not one we took lightly. We structured our firm to focus on transparency, client service and open architecture to allow for full autonomy over investment and wealth management decisions. This has afforded us the ability to deliver the best possible experience and solutions to our clients.” says McGregor.

As an independent investment manager, SIG does not have an affiliation with a parent company. This allows them full freedom to conduct due diligence and product selection absent of product pressure or product limitations that may be imposed by a parent company’s platform of investments. As a Registered Investment Advisor, SIG does not receive compensation from money managers or any other third parties. “Having one source of revenue is a luxury as it allows us to remain steadfast in our single focus; acting in our client’s best interest to help them meet their financial goals”, according to McGregor.

"Our firm is focused on transparency, serving our clients and delivering bespoke investment solutions commensurate with our client’s goals"

The team at Sargent Investment Group has significant wealth management and portfolio construction experience with larger Wall Street institutions prior to their founding. They are a team of thirteen that serve their clients as a cohesive unit. Although each employee has an independent role, there are no silos at SIG as they work to service their clients as a group. This gives SIG depth and focused expertise. Their clients appreciate this intimate experience as they know and interact with all of those associated with the management of their accounts. SIG is in place, committed, and accountable as a team.

Curating Investment Portfolios to Survive Market Volatility

SIG delivers an unparalleled approach to investing through their Wealth Overview & Action Plan. The Wealth Overview has 3 areas of focus; Financial Picture, Financial Plan and Investment Portfolio. Each clients’ Wealth Overview has a corresponding Action Plan that serves as a personalized living document. This allows SIG’s team to maintain focus and accountability on meeting their client’s financial goals. We believe that these three areas of focus deliver an all-encompassing and differentiated wealth management experience tailored to the personal needs of their clients. We are unaware of any other RIA that offers this level of organization and personalized approach to wealth management.

The Picture provides clarity around the high level purpose of each client’s wealth, illustrates family and financial professional involvement and organizes the financial components of their lives (Liabilities, Will/ Estate Plan, Outside Accounts, Land, Houses, etc.).

“We help our clients look at their financial picture from 35,000 feet. This includes family members, outside financial professionals (CPA’s, Estate Attorneys, etc.) and most importantly, the high level purpose behind their wealth. This purpose is a core component of how we structure their investment portfolio” – Chris Rhyne CIMA®.

Goals based financial planning (the Plan), gives their clients confidence that their financials goals have a high probability of success. Through planning, they will help shape spending and savings patterns to achieve these goals.

“Our growth is organic through word of mouth and referrals, which is indicative of the success we experience with our clients”

The Investment Portfolio is typically organized into three buckets; 1) Liquidity (operating income) – Primarily cash and cash equivalents designed to sustain the client for short-term purposes (usually < 4-years). 2) Long-Term spending - Investments designed to allow the client to live comfortably through the end of their plan. 3) Legacy - Assets designed for charitable and leave bequests at the end of their plan. These three buckets also allow SIG to properly select investments for liquidity, time horizon, volatility and taxation.

During challenging times, our Wealth Overview & Action Plan helps deliver an all-encompassing and differentiated wealth management experience tailored to the individual needs of our clients

Each client’s Wealth Overview has a corresponding Action Plan that serves as a personalized living document. This allows SIG’s team to maintain focus and accountability in meeting their financial goals.

SIG has found that investors typically experience stress around the organization and sustainability of their finances. “By neatly organizing our client’s wealth and creating an investment portfolio designed to help them achieve their financial goals, we find that this creates peace of mind. This is the single best feeling we experience.” says Rhyne.
