Etsy enables customers to give the rounded portion of their purchases as one of the first businesses to use Adyen's Giving round-up technology.
FREMONT, CA: "Adyen's solution has enabled us to seamlessly engage the Etsy community in supporting our Uplift Fund. It's been amazing to see how a small change in checkout can have such a major impact, especially as the past few years have highlighted the gap in resources available to many communities who are eager to use their entrepreneurial talents." says Morgan Blake, VP of Payments at Etsy.
The Uplift Fund, run by the Brooklyn Community Foundation, has received ten million donations from Etsy users thanks to Adyen, one of the global financial technology platforms of choice for top companies. Etsy runs two-sided online marketplaces that connect millions of passionate and creative buyers and sellers worldwide.
"We've seen great traction with Giving and we are thrilled to reach this milestone with Etsy. Etsy has been a key partner in building out our Giving solution, including the round-up feature. By combining strengths with Adyen's technology and Etsy's two-sided marketplace, we were able to come together to find a solution that drives impact, in line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We can't wait to see what else we accomplish together." says Ingo Uytdehaage, CFO at Adyen.
Giving is a solution that allows Adyen's merchants to take donations for good causes online and in-person. It helps them build stronger relationships with their customers by giving them a place to support their favorite charity organizations. Giving accomplishes this by converting consumers' good intentions into extra income sources for charity organizations. Customers can donate to the retailer's charity of choice with just one tap on a point-of-sale terminal or one click at online checkout.
