1. How do recent advancements in payment card processing align with or deviate from traditional methods of meeting business needs?
Recent advancements in payment card processing have significantly streamlined transactions for businesses. Traditional methods often involved physical terminals and manual entry of card details. However, modern advancements like contactless payments, mobile wallets and online payment gateways have simplified transactions, reduced processing times and enhanced security.
These advancements align with businesses' evolving needs by providing faster, more convenient, and secure payment options for customers. However, they may also deviate in terms of the need for businesses to adapt to new technologies, invest in infrastructure upgrades, and ensure compliance with evolving security standards.
2. Can you share your experiences from one of the projects you were recently involved in?
I cannot reveal much about the projects that Kushki is working on. However, from my experience and in the position of Chief Technology Officer, we are looking to innovate in different payment methods, whether digital or in-person, keep up with regulatory entities (like PIX in Brazil, cripto acceptance and expansion), adding value over its services and mostly importantly provide our clients with best in class tools and service. This will be a big year for Kushki and digital payments in general.
3. What are some of the challenges in your business that current services cannot provide an optimal solution?
Some challenges in the payment card processing business include security threats such as data breaches and fraud, compliance with evolving regulations, seamless integration with various payment methods and platforms, managing chargebacks and disputes, and providing efficient customer support. Current services may struggle to provide optimal solutions for these challenges due to the complexity of the payment ecosystem, the rapidly evolving technology landscape, and the diverse needs of businesses and consumers.
